When paving asphalt, it is important that the compaction work is done within a certain temperature window. Here the Völkel Navigator supports the installation team in which the paver and several rollers are networked in a data cloud.
The navigator display shows the measurement values true to scale in the construction drawing.
Our GNSS modem transmits the compaction data directly to the web server via mobile radio. They are available for access in encrypted form. The data is accessed via the Internet with a PC or laptop (e. g. in the construction office) by using the CompactDoc software. Alternatively, the data can be transported using a USB stick.
The PC software CompactDoc is used to prepare the compaction work on the construction project, as well as the analysis and comprehensive evaluation of the construction project, e.g. as a measurement protocol according to CCC guidelines. Export functions are supporting the further data processing.
The perfect interaction of the Völkel navigators via the Völkel cloud
Due to the clear separation between navigator set and set-up package, a system (consisting of navigator display and GNSS receiver with modem) can be used on various set-uped machines.
The Navigator display can be installed and removed in a few simple operations using a quick-change unit. The GNSS receiver with modem is positioned precisely and quickly using powerful magnets.
Völkel also offers the PAVE kit for the paver.
It includes the lowerable sensor carrier with surface temperature sensor and an optional weather station.
The GNSS receiver and modem can be attached by magnet to the sensor carrier.

The surface temperature sensor is installed at the end of the easy-to-mount and lowerable sensor carrier. This measures the surface temperature behind the sceed precisely and it operates entirely without any moving parts.
The wind and the ambient temperature have the most significant influence on the cooling of the asphalt. The local weather station measures wind strength, temperature, relative humidity and air pressure.
Alternatively, weather data can be called up from the Internet.
The set-up package includes all permanently installed parts and can be installed on any desired machine, irrespective of the manufacturer of the vehicle. Machine-specific settings are saved in the intelligent node.
The intelligent node connects all parts of the navigator. All machine-specific settings are saved in the node. This makes it easy to change the navigator from machine to machine.
The asphalt temperature sensor can be attached to the asphalt roller or alternatively several times at different places on the paver (e.g. hopper, floor in front of the screed, conveyor belt etc.). It can also be installed on a hopper or on a conveyor belt. The data transfer to the PAVE Navigator takes place via Bluetooth.
The asphalt temperature sensor Pro is attached to the hopper of the paver or to the feeder (data will be transferred to the PAVE navigator via Bluetooth). It transmits the temperature of the asphalt in the hopper before, during and after delivery.
For measuring the width of the screed. The additional width measurement complements the temperature measurement of the surface temperature sensor. This enables the exact representation of the temperatures in the edge areas of the layed asphalt. It also prevents external temperatures to become mixed, if two asphalt pavers are installed next to each other.
If you use the CCC-A Navigator for the rolling team next to the Pave Navigator, the width measurement can be used to isolate the seemingly insufficiently compressed edge areas, that results from the overlapping driving style of the roller drivers.
All trucks in an asphalt supply chain are equipped with a GNSS tracker to determine their position. The GNSS tracker can be permanently installed in the truck or it can be assigned to an asphalt truck (the power is then supplied via the vehicle's on-board voltage socket).
The active charging bracket supplies the logistic navigator with power during the entire installation process and can be attached by using a clamp (on the right in the photo) or by a magnet holder.
Due to the intelligent node, which is included in every set-up, the navigator display receives all relevant machine information and is ready for immediate use.
In the CCC-Navigator Standard / T version, the same navigator display can be used flexibly and regardless of the manufacturer on single drum rollers, also on pavers and also on asphalt rollers.
The asphalt supply chain between the asphalt mixing plant and the construction site can be easily and safely mapped with the logistic navigator.
The Völkel Cloud links all machines, asphalt trucks and asphalt mixing plants which are involved in the paving process. The responsible persons on the construction site and in the mixing plant can react to new conditions in the inflow and outflow of the asphalt during the paving process. The delivery note is also transmitted digitally.
Networking of all machines, asphalt trucks and mixing plants via a neutral server with the Völkel-Cloud.
Stable wireless data transmission: the Völkel cloud uses the strongest of all national and international mobile radio networks which are available at the location.
The PC software CompactDoc is the all-in-one tool for transparency, analysis, remote maintenance and documentation.
The Völkel Cloud records all project-related user data, including geo-references, and evaluates and processes them using the CompactDoc.
You have control over all current construction projects via PC, mobile or laptop.
