ESG Code of Conduct
for Völkel Mikroelektronik GmbH

1. Introduction and Commitment

As a medium-sized enterprise, we take responsibility – for our employees, our customers, our partners, and the environment. This ESG Code of Conduct outlines the principles by which we align our business practices with sustainability, integrity, and future viability.

We explicitly recognize and support the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UN UDHR) and the core labour standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and are committed to respecting and implementing these principles throughout our sphere of influence.

2. Environment (Environmental)

We are committed to resource-efficient and environmentally conscious business practices.

  • We strive to continuously reduce our energy and material consumption.
  • We avoid or actively reduce waste and emissions wherever possible.
  • We strictly comply with environmental laws and regulations.
  • We prefer environmentally friendly products, services, and suppliers whenever economically feasible.
  • We promote sustainable mobility and digital solutions to reduce our ecological footprint.

3. Social Responsibility (Social)

We respect and support the people we work with – both inside and outside our company.

  • We respect human rights and the dignity of every individual – regardless of gender, origin, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability – as laid out in the UN UDHR.
  • We are committed to complying with the four fundamental ILO principles:
    • Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
    • Elimination of forced or compulsory labour
    • Abolition of child labour
    • Elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation
  • We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, or exclusion.
  • Occupational safety, health protection, and fair working conditions are essential to us.
  • We invest in training, education, and long-term development opportunities.

We treat customers, suppliers, and business partners with fairness and mutual respect.

4. Corporate Governance (Governance)

We act with integrity, in compliance with the law, and with transparency.

  • We comply with all applicable laws, standards, and contractual obligations.
  • We strictly reject corruption, bribery, undue advantages, and anti-competitive practices.
  • We make decisions responsibly, transparently, and with consideration for all relevant interests.
  • We are committed to data protection, IT security, and the safeguarding of confidential information.
  • We actively integrate our supply chain into our ESG principles.

5. Responsibility and Implementation

This Code applies to all employees and managers of Völkel Mikroelektronik GmbH. We expect our suppliers and partners to also respect these principles and to implement them within their areas of responsibility.

Reports of potential violations of this Code are taken seriously and treated confidentially.

6. Final Statement

We view sustainability as a continuous improvement process. We review this Code of Conduct regularly and further develop it when necessary – out of conviction and in the interest of future generations.
