Big wheel

For getting into and out of the moving capsules, they should stop gently and exactly at the selected platform. The big wheel is driven by two hydraulic pumps and the output must be distributed accordingly.

• The control system automates the stopping procedure and replaces the common manual operation.
• During automatic operation, a specific capsule position is given per PLC to the HCX control system. The HCX controls the speed of the big wheel so that the capsules come to a halt at the prescribed position without a jolt after. This simplifies the operation: the big wheel stops safely at the entrances/exits at the push of a single button.
• If operated manually, the speed of the big wheel is regulated.
• The turning speed can be pre-defined from a potentiometer.
• If the speed sensor fails, the big wheel can be moved forward in emergency mode manually
