Cable winch
In the forestry sector the mobile cable winch is used to transport trunks during timber harvesting. The transport over a distance x should take place fully automatically and speed-controlled in order to increase the bringing output for uphill, downhill and level transport. The starting and finishing points and the total distance should be variable.

- After the system is set up, the operator travels the course manually once. During this, the control system registers the details starting point, finishing point, current position and travelling speed.
- The operator starts the automatic operation using the radio-controlled device. Following this, the trunks are transported over the learnt distance completely automatically. If desired, a second operator down in the valley can take on the transport using a second radio-controlled device or let the automatic function run until finished.
- The winch control system always keeps the traction ropes taut in order to avoid any "knotting" of the ropes.
- The starting and finishing points can be changed without the course having to be learnt again.
- Using the winch control system the transport is made with the lowest amount of labour and the best possible exploitation of time.
